What are the important dates for the UNCLE TOBYS® Big Splash Swimathon?
The UNCLE TOBYS® Big Splash Swimathon will be held from Tuesday 6 October 2009 to Wednesday 31 March 2010.

The length of the campaign coincides with Schools Swimming Carnivals and Water Safety activities.

How do I register for the UNCLE TOBYS® Big Splash Swimathon?
Online registration is the easiest way to make your Big Splash!

Participants who register online will receive a free UNCLE TOBYS® Big Splash Swimathon silicone wristband. Wristbands will be forwarded to Group Administrators seven to ten days prior to the event date. 

Where does the money that we fundraise go?
UNCLE TOBYS® and Royal Life Saving Society – Australia are working together to reduce child drowning through the implementation of the Royal Life Saving Swim and Survive Drowning Prevention Strategy. Half the money you raise will go towards the Royal Life Saving Swim and Survive Drowning Prevention Strategy and the other half will be allocated to your locally nominated charity based upon the following three options1:
1. Royal Life Saving Swim and Survive Drowning Prevention Strategy doubling the funds raised and impact
2. Not-for-profit organisation as part of a local fundraising cause
3. Registered charity.

Who can register for the UNCLE TOBYS® Big Splash Swimathon?
Everyone can register, whether you are part of a:
• School
• Aquatic Centre / Swim School
• Sporting Club / Community Group
• Corporate / Business
• Nestle/UNCLE TOBYS® 

Or you can register as an individual. 

EVENT REGISTRATION – GROUP ADMINISTRATORS

What does an UNCLE TOBYS® Big Splash Swimathon Group Administrator have to do?
The Group Administrator is the key planning contact, with all communication materials to administer the UNCLE TOBYS® Big Splash Swimathon forwarded directly to the Group Administrator

The Group Administrator will need to discuss with their group and decide on the following:
• Group Name
• Big Splash Challenge
• Local Cause
• Who will be involved
• Fundraising Target
• Date
• Time
• Venue

The Group Administrator will need to understand and accept the terms and conditions for the UNCLE TOBYS® Big Splash Swimathon, to receive registration confirmation and access to their group’s fundraising home page.

The safety of participants undertaking the UNCLE TOBYS® Big Splash Swimathon is paramount. The Swimathon Group Administrator will need to ensure the Swimathon is conducted in a safe manner and will need to undertake a Risk Assessment with the aquatic facility taking into consideration the participant’s swimming competency levels and the nominated Big Splash activity.

The Group Administrator will need to register their Group online at Register MY GROUP. The Group Administrator will establish their own username and password and will receive confirmation of registration which will link them directly to their group’s fundraising home page.

Group Fundraising Home Page
Group Administrators
will have the ability to personalise their group home page by changing colours, fonts or downloading an image to include on the home page.

Each group fundraising home page will contain:
• Group Registration Details (as listed above)
• Target fundraising gauge
• Group leader board
• Message Board
• Link for individual participants to register
• Find a Member / View Full List of Members

The Group Administrator will need to direct all interested parties to their group fundraising home page and will be provided with online email templates to direct and engage participants, sponsors and supporters.

Group Administrator – Online Resources
Group Administrators will be able access resources online to assist their planning and promotional activities for their Big Splash event. These resources include:
• Organiser’s Information Kit (which includes planning checklist  and promotional ideas)
• Hard Copy Participant Registration Form
• Individual Sponsorship Registration Form
• Posters
• A4 Fact Sheet
• Media Release and Newsletter text
• Lap Count Tally Sheet

How do I keep track of my group once I have registered online?
Group Administrators will have the ability to keep track of their group via their group fundraising home page which provides for:
• Group Registration Details
• Target fundraising gauge
• Group leader board
• Message Board
• Link for individual participants to register
• Find a Member / View Full List of Members

DONATIONS / SPONSORSHIP

Are sponsorship donations tax deductible?
All donations and sponsorship payments made in support of the UNCLE TOBYS® Big Splash Swimathon are made as a gift and are non-refundable. Donations and sponsorship payments over $2 are tax deductible. The Royal Life Saving Society – Australia will issue a receipt for the full amount of the donation and sponsorship payment. For donations and sponsorships made online a receipt will automatically be generated. For donations and sponsorship payments made by mail including cheque/money order a receipt will be issued if requested (providing address details have been supplied). 

How much can a sponsor donate?
You should inform your sponsor of the causes you are fundraising for and provide details of where the money will go. Sponsors may be happy to donate money straight away or may want to wait until after you have completed your UNCLE TOBYS® Big Splash Swimathon challenge.

How do I send in my money once I have completed my UNCLE TOBYS® Big Splash Swimathon Challenge?
If you collect sponsorship and donation payments manually using the provided UNCLE TOBYS® Big Splash Swimathon Individual Sponsorship Form, it will be your responsibility to collect, manage and reconcile payments, forwarding final payment to the Royal Life Saving Society – Australia. This final payment will need to be made within three weeks of completing your UNCLE TOBYS® Big Splash Swimathon event. This payment can be made in the following ways:

a. Paid in online – you can pay using your own credit/debit card for the total funds raised by nominating your group and participant details, and uploading/mailing your UNCLE TOBYS® Big Splash Swimathon Individual Sponsorship / Donation  Form.

b. Paid in by post – you can collect all payments and convert to Cheque/Money Order and forward through with your with UNCLE TOBYS® Big Splash Swimathon Individual Sponsorship / Donation Form.
