Grant is one of Australia’s most decorated World Championship swimmers, winning 18 medals at the FINA World Championships – the only swimmer to win 4 consecutive world titles in the same event (1500m Freestyle).
Along with his World Championship accolades, Grant has won 7 Olympic medals (2 Gold and 1 Silver in the 1500m Freestyle); 5 Commonwealth Games medals and has been dubbed the ‘Greatest Long Distance Swimmer in the World’ with a World Record in both the 800m Freestyle and the 1500m Freestyle.
In 2004, Grant received the Order of Australia Medal and in 2008, Grant was awarded Telstra’s ‘Swimmers’ Swimmer of the Year.
